Kidsafe, the Child Accident Prevention Foundation of Australia, was established in 1979. We are an independent, non-profit, charitable foundation dedicated to the prevention of unintentional death and injury to children less than 15 years of age.
Kidsafe operates at national, state and regional levels and in co-operation with government, industry, schools, hospitals, the media, community groups, voluntary organisations and individuals. Kidsafe collaborates with others to provide injury prevention programs, media campaigns and educational resources to raise awareness of child safety issues and injury prevention throughout the community.
In recognition of Kidsafe's 30th anniversary in 2009, it re-established the national Kidsafe Awards as a way of recognising individuals who had made a significant contribution to child injury prevention or safety promotion during the past 30 years.
The National Kidsafe Day Awards celebrate the achievements of groups and individuals in Australia in the field of childhood injury prevention and safety promotion. The 2013 National Kidsafe Day Awards will be announced on National Kidsafe Day, Tuesday 22nd October 2013.
